Hosting Spring and Fall lectures by cardiac specialists and other health care professionals is one of the means that the Alumni uses to achieve its goal of informing members about advancements within the Heart Institute and in the treatment of heart disease.

"Latest Technology Helps Save Lives at the Heart Institute"

Timothy J. Zakutney, MHSc, PEng, CCE

Mr. Zakutney is Manager of Biomedical Engineering at the world renowned University of Ottawa Heart Institute, providing leadership and guidance surrounding medical and biomedical technology issues for healthcare.

Mr. Zakutney will speak on the topic of the changing role of Biomedical Engineering and Technology at the Heart institute as well as the challenges his unit faces with regard to the Capital Equipment process.

Ms. Christine Struthers, RN, BScN, MSc

Ms. Christine Struthers is the Advanced Practice Nurse for the Cardiac Telehealth program at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Ms. Struthers will speak about telehealth and its use at the Ottawa Heart Institute

Ms. Hubble is the Manager Clinical Perfusion and Mechanical Circulatory Support Devices
