Put Your Heart Into Tickers Cooking – Summer Cooking

Building on the success of its January food cooking demonstration, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Patient Alumni is pleased to announce a follow-up event, to continue to help its members achieve a healthier lifestyle.
This second event is planned for Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 at 5:30 PM in Tickers, the restaurant located on the main floor of the Heart Institute, 40 Ruskin Street. The title of the first lesson is “Summer Cooking”, which will include summer salads, appetizers and desserts.
In this program we will be showcasing healthy recipes with a cooking demonstration. During the demo we will be talking about how the ingredients of these recipes are linked to heart health. The dishes will be distributed to the attendees so they may enjoy them on the premises.
The session will be given by Justin Scott, Executive Chef for Marek Food. Justin is well known for his cooking demonstrations for the LCBO and at the House of Commons. Also present will be Kathleen Turner, the UOHI Registered Dietitian, to answer your questions.
The cost of attendance is $20.00. Profits will go directly to the UOHI Foundation.
