February is Heart Month is a time to come together to raise funds and awareness for the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
This February, you can support one of Canada’s most distinguished heart health centres by making a donation or raising funds on its behalf. Every dollar makes a difference in the fight against heart disease.
Here are just a few ways you can be a part of Heart Month 2023.

Light The Town Red for healthy hearts.
February is the shortest and coldest month of the year, and an important one for our hearts. Look to the sky to see construction cranes and rooftop signs glowing red, and around your neighbourhood for local businesses and private homes with red lights brightly lit for heart health awareness. Join us and shine a light on heart health this February.
Purchase a paper heart at one of countless retailers, munch on a delicious heart shaped cookie or send a heartfelt note with a hand made heart card to a loved one.
Wellington West Big Heart Challenge February 14-28. Sign up for the Big Heart Challenge and get ready for a 14-day challenge of fitness and fun to celebrate the areas around Wellington West. Hike or ski the Kichi Sibi trail or explore in and around Wellington Street. Watch for your opportunity to win great prizes and a special day of fun family outdoor activities on February 23.
Celebrate Heart Month at the Ottawa Senators vs Detroit Red Wings game, Tuesday, February 28. It’s time to don your red Sens jersey and join the Heart Month celebration. Proceeds from 50:50 ticket sales that night will support research at the Heart Institute. If you can’t make it to the game, 50:50 tickets can be purchased online.
Dymon Custom Closet Giveaway. Dymon Kitchen and Closet is pleased to partner with the Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation to bring awareness to heart health during Heart Month. Throughout February, guests at The Dymon Store are invited to take a photo with the heart health fact displays hanging in the closet discovery centres at all Dymon locations.
Guests can enter to win a dream custom closet by posting the photograph to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtags #GiveWithHeart and #HeartDKC. Five runners up will receive $100 gift certificates to The Dymon Store.
