Five reasons to learn CPR!

  1. It’s easy to learn!
  2. It’s a life-saving skill: effective CPR increases the chance of survival from cardiac arrest by 2-3 times.
  3. Most cardiac arrests happen in a public place or at home, often with family members present.
  4. Feel more prepared and confident to act in the event of a cardiac emergency.
  5. Publicly available Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are easy to use and further increase the chance of survival over CPR alone.

The University of Ottawa Heart Institute offers CPR workshops that are especially designed for you – there’s no test at the end and you’ll gain lifesaving skills and confidence. The Alumni Association covers half the cost of participation.  Two workshops are being offered on March 27th – for more information and to sign up, register online or visit the UOHI event calendar.
