A Fun and Inspiring Paint Evening with the Alumni Association

Fun, creativity and socializing – a great evening was had by all on July 16, when the Alumni Association held its first Paint Evening event with Alumni board members and guests.

Led by accomplished local artist Maria Connell, participants were invited to create their own masterpiece inspired by Maria’s original artwork titled “Birch Beauties”. With Maria demonstrating step by step instructions, participants were guided through a relaxed and enjoyable evening. Music played quietly in the background as each participant’s own painting came to life on the canvas. At the end of the evening, participants enjoyed walking around and looking at each other’s creations, and then took their own masterpiece home.

Some feedback from participants:

“A great initiative to have fun, learn and inspire!”

“It was very well organized, relaxed and cool. It was also adapted for those who had never painted.”

“It was such a great time.”

“Thank you for inviting me to such a fun night! Both you and Maria were very accommodating to each artist. I think this is a great event for Alumni Members to attend!”

After the success of last month’s trial event, the Alumni Association is excited to announce that beginning in the fall, Paint Evenings will be hosted for interested Alumni members and their guests. No previous painting experience is necessary, and it’s a great way to bring out your inner artist while enjoying a night out with family and friends. We look forward to seeing you there!
